Another Little Mention.
London entertainment and culture guide 'FlavorPill' has recently listed Climpson & Sons as being 'home to what is arguably the best coffee in London - churned out by entertaining Aussie baristas - and the clean interior lines
complement food that tends towards the simple yet bold'. We're certainly very pleased with this evaluation.
When not pouring the best coffee into cups, Climpson & Sons baristi have taken to 'Absurd Latte Art', and some of our efforts are illustrated below.

The Rain Comes Down...
It's very drizzly, cold, and grey in London - the perfect weather to enjoy quality coffee, all day. Those brave enough to face leaving the office/house for a trip down to Climpson & Sons have been rewarded with some really great treats.
Not only is the cafe warm and dry, but some new menu items have been pleasing the crowds over the last few weeks. Smoked Salmon on toast, with wasabi mayo, corriander and red peppers, as well as an Asian Tuna Salad have been very well received.
The march of the Gibraltar (5.6oz short-double latte) continues, with more and more customers trying, and loving, this New York City drink.

There's no place like...
We're very glad to be back home at No. 67, after a month-long refit that only ran over schedule by a day or two. For those that aren't too aware of the intracies of fitting a busy cafe, into a small space; it's hard work.
We're very pleased with the results, but come on in, and judge for yourself.

We're currently quietly chuffed with "Moose Lee's" review of Climpson & Sons, on The London Review of Breakfasts. Check it out for yourselves.

So we haven't updated the site in a while, and here's why. We've been rather busy turning this:

into this:

As well as turning our beloved Climpson and Sons from the bustling hive of coffee and great food, into this:

But, despair not... This temporary relocation to Armadillo Restaurant is simply part of the month-long renovation of our cafe. New kitchen flooring, air conditioning, some subtle reworking of service areas, and one huge sink... All leading towards even better coffee, and even greater food.
Curious about the changes? Keen to see what's being done?! We're close to completion, and all looking foward to coming home to number 67. You guys will just have to wait and see for yourselves.

Today, we launched our new website under its own domain name "climpsonandsons.com". Enjoy.
Another website worth noting is the new London-based coffee blog Tropical Saloon. While it's been set-up by Climpson & Sons manager, Tim, Tropical Saloon is a user-driven blog, aiming to help facillitate discussion and understanding regarding London's rapidly emerging espresso community.
Yet another site intriguing and motivating Climpson staff is the suprisingly addictive Rate My Rosetta. Basically an upload site for latte artists and coffee lovers worldwide. Check out the offerings from users "Styles" and "Knackers".

The naked portafilters are here. Also known as 'cut-aways', the naked portafilters (or handles) are completely machined down, to effectively leave just the espresso basket hanging from the machine. The result of this being that the espresso being made has no contact with anything between the basket and the cup. Pure unadulterated coffee pleasure. Ask staff for a demo....
Having used them for a few days now, I'm realising that they take some getting used to, but the resulting coffee has more depth and body, with a richer, tighter crema.

Climpson & Sons are expecting... The imminent arrival of a set of naked La Marzocco portafilters, on order from the US. What's a naked portafilter? Why is it so exciting? Come in. Ask. And find out!
